In the Summer of 2017, we had the pleasure of meeting with Kindred co-founders Anna Anderson and Sean Lever.
Instructions then followed to identify a property of special character in a central and accessible London location for their exciting new project.
The idea behind Kindred being to provide a home away from home for city dwellers often feeling isolated and disconnected, a place where they could come together and meet in a multi-use venue offering a café, bar, restaurant, live events and co-working facilities.
After looking at several potential options, one in particular captivated attention from the initial site visit, this being Bradmore House in Hammersmith, a unique and imposing Grade II Listed building, with origins back to the 1700’s, offering around 7,000 sq ft arranged over 3 storeys.
Lengthy negotiations followed over several months resulting in a successful leasehold acquisition.
A major programme of works was then undertaken by our client to restore the property externally and design internally to an exceptionally high standard.
The end result provides a perfect combination of integrated spaces under one roof where people can connect from morning through to late evening.
Lewis Craig are delighted to have acted as property advisers, from initial brief of identifying a special opportunity, to handling particularly intricate negotiations and liaising closely with solicitors, architects and other professional advisers throughout the entire acquisition process.
